Your first visit
One full hour. A real exam. A plain-English plan. The $104 evaluation is how every patient relationship starts at CJW — no exceptions, no guessing.
Why this happens
Plain-English on what’s actually going on — so the treatment plan makes sense before you commit to it.
Why most “evaluations” miss the cause
Most chiropractic intakes are 10 minutes of paperwork, a 5-minute conversation, and a quick adjustment on the same table everyone else is using. That works fine if your only goal is symptom relief for the visit you’re sitting in. It does not work if you’ve been hurting for six months and nobody has actually told you why.
What an honest first visit takes
A real evaluation needs three things: time to hear what’s actually happening, a structured movement screen so the doctor isn’t guessing, and a hands-on exam that matches the findings rather than running a fixed checklist. None of those happen in a 15-minute slot.
What we do about it
No 36-visit packages. No mystery techniques. Just the part that actually changes the picture.
01
Movement first, opinion second
We map how every region of your spine and major joints actually moves before we form a hypothesis. The body tells the story; we just listen to it.
02
Structured exam, not a checklist
Orthopedic and neurological tests are chosen based on what the screen found — never the same battery for everyone walking through the door.
03
A plan in writing
You leave with a one-page summary of what we found, what we’d recommend, what realistic results look like at 4 and 12 weeks, and what it costs.
What happens during a visit
Every visit follows the same honest structure — assess, treat, plan. Here’s exactly what to expect.
01
Talk it through
We sit down, hear what’s actually going on, and review your history, prior imaging, and what you’ve already tried.
02
Movement and posture screen
A full functional assessment — how your spine and joints move, where you compensate, and what’s actually driving the symptoms.
03
Hands-on exam
Palpation, orthopedic and neurological tests as indicated. We figure out the root cause, not just the loudest symptom.
04
Plan and pricing
We walk you through what we found, what we’d recommend, what realistic results look like, and what it costs. You decide what happens next.
05
Treatment
We start the treatment process and start to get your body right.

If yours isn’t here, just ask when you call — we don’t gatekeep information.
$108 covers the full hour — exam, screening, hands-on assessment, and a written plan. No hidden add-ons, no required X-rays, no commitment to a care package. It’s the actual cost of an honest first visit.
Sometimes — if the exam supports it and you’re comfortable. But our priority is finding the root cause, not getting a quick crack in. If we need imaging or want to start with soft-tissue work, we’ll say so.
No. Texas is a direct-access state — you can book chiropractic care without a doctor’s referral. If you have a VA Community Care authorization, bring it; otherwise we’ll handle the rest.
Comfortable clothes you can move in, your insurance card if applicable, any recent imaging or therapy notes, and a list of medications.
