Insurance questions
The ones we hear most.
Still unsure? Call the front desk — we’ll figure it out together, no charge.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
If you are part of the VA then yes, the patient should request our clinic through their referring clinician. For regular patients, no. Texas is a direct-access state, which means you can see a chiropractor without a doctor’s referral. The exception is if your specific insurance plan requires one, we’ll verify that for you before your first visit if you’re not sure.
Will you verify my benefits before I come in?
Yes. Call us with your insurance card handy and we’ll run a benefits check — copay, deductible status, visits remaining, and any prior auth requirements. There’s no charge for the verification.
What if my insurance isn't on the list?
Many out-of-network plans still reimburse for chiropractic care. We can provide a superbill after each visit that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
Do you accept HSA / FSA cards?
Yes — chiropractic care is an HSA/FSA-eligible expense. We accept those cards directly at the front desk.
What does the $108 evaluation cover?
The full hour: history, exam, movement screen, and a written care plan. It’s a flat self-pay rate for new patients who want a clean, no-surprises first visit. If we bill insurance instead, your portion may be higher or lower depending on your plan.
